MODULAR X-RAY IMAGING SYSTEM MXI-1

For x-ray imaging a robust and also flexible system is needed to serve all kind of different scientific problems.

MXI-1 features

Scintillator Head

  • Scintillator size: 10x10 mm
  • Easy exchange of scintillators
  • Compatible with different scintillator materials
  • Attachment to focusing unit in different geometries
  • 90 degree upward deflection of the optical beam for radiation protection
  • Guide pin design guarantees optimal image quality

Focusing unit

  • Ball cage guidance system for highest mechanical precision
  • Motorized focusing with a 2-phase stepper motor and sub-micron positioning accuracy
  • Compatible with a wide selection of commercially available microscope objectives
  • Tool kit for fast and easy exchange of microscope objectives
  • High precision machining for optimal imaging performance

Lens tube unit

  • Located between focusing unit and camera
  • Can be equipped with different tube lenses (standard focal length f=200 mm)
  • Distance between lens tube and camera adjustable with fine thread
  • Adaptable with C-mount and F-mount cameras
  • Allows 360 degree rotation of the cameras
  • Provides support frame for larger and heavier cameras

motorized beam splitter unit

  • Motorized mirror or beam splitter unit allows quick selection between two cameras
  • Alternative to lens tube unit
  • Allows the attachment of two cameras at angles of 90 and 180 degrees
  • Can be equipped with different tube lenses (standard focal length f=200 mm) ​
  • Distance between lens tube and camera adjustable with fine thread
  • Compatible with C-mount and F-mount cameras
  • Provides support frame for larger and heavier cameras

motorized camera rotation unit

  • Motorized rotation of camera around the optical axis for computed tomography (CT) applications
  • Allows precise orientation of the camera lines perpendicular to the sample rotation axis
  • Can be equipped with different tube lenses (standard focal length f=200 mm) ​
  • Distance between lens tube and camera adjustable with fine thread ​
  • Compatible with C-mount and F-mount cameras​

Positioning UNit MXi-1-PU

  • Allows precise positioning of MXI-1 perpendicular (x,y direction) to the X-ray beam
  • Vertical and horizontal travel range of 25 mm, reproducability < 2 µm
  • Compact design for environments with limited space
  • High mechanical stiffness provides a high position stability
  • Includes cable management solution

Motor controller SC-1

  • The MXI-1 software in combination with our SC-1 controller allows operation of all motors, including focusing unit, beam splitter operation, camera rotation and the MXI-1-PU positioning unit
  • Touchscreen operated graphical user interface for easy and fast alignment
  • Ethernet connectivity and REST API allows easy integration with existing control system
